With a wee bit of mechanization, the complex process of creating a shell offering is still largely done by hand. The inlay work here is so fine that the patterns seem to have grown out of the MDF piece because the incisions can barely be detected! While inlay covers a range of techniques, it is a skill that is highly specialized and requires a great deal of dexterity, precision and time.
